Es war kalt. Sehr, sehr kalt. Die Marktstände in Bern waren rundum mit diesen isolierenden Noppenfolien eingepackt und die Morgensonne schien durch diese “Zelte” hindurch. Das geschäftige Treiben erinnerte mich an einen Basar und so drängte sich die Assoziation eines “Stammestreffen” auf. (Ich hoffe du weisst es zu schätzen, dass ich bei -17°C am fotografieren war. :))

It was cold. Very, very cold. The market stalls in Bern were completely packed with these insulating films and the morning sun shone through these “tents”. The hustle and bustle reminded me of a bazaar, and that quickly brought up the association of a “tribal meeting”.

(I hope you can appreciate that I was photographing at -17° C. (1.4°F) :))

Heute einmal nur auf Englisch, da ich die Weisheit des Thich Nhat Hanh nicht adäquat übersetzen kann. Ob Tee drinken oder Fotografieren… seine Worte resonieren mit meiner Innenwelt.

No matter if it’s tea or photography, the wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh resonantes with my inner world.

You must be completely awake in the present to enjoy the tea.

Only in the awareness of the present,
can your hands feel the pleasant warmth of the cup.

Only in the present, can you savor the aroma,
taste the sweetness,
appreciate the delicacy.

If you are ruminating about the past,
or worrying about the future,
you will completely miss the experience of enjoying the cup of tea.

You will look down at the cup,
and the tea will be gone.

Life is like that.

If you are not fully present,
you will look around and it will be gone.

You will have missed the feel,
the aroma,
the delicacy and beauty of life.

It will seem to be speeding past you.

The past is finished. Learn from it and let it go.

The future is not even here yet.
Plan for it,
but do not waste your time worrying about it.

Worrying is worthless.

When you stop ruminating about what has already happened,
when you stop worrying about what might never happen,
then you will be in the present moment.

Then you will begin to experience joy in life.

Kreativität & Wahrnehmung

Haben Sie angesichts eines Fotos auch schon gedacht: Wo findet man nur solche Motive?
Möchten Sie Ihre fotografischen Fertigkeiten erweitern und neue Bildwelten erschliessen?

Wahrnehmungsschulung und Kreativitätstraining im Kontext der Fotografie-Bildungsplattform “The Good Eye”.

Ich biete Workshops und Kurse an um sich mit der eigenen Kreativität und Wahrnehmung auf spielerische, lustvolle Art auseinander zu setzen. Die Erweiterung der Wahrnehmung und die Aktivierung des kreativen Potenzials wirkt sich nicht nur in der Fotografie aus und daher lade ich auch alle Menschen ein, die grundsätzlich “nur mit einer Knipse in Vollautomatik” fotografieren, die aber Lust haben, den Reichtum der Welt zu erfahren.

Themen wie “Sehen ohne Augen” oder “Der Raum dazwischen” entführen euch in eine Welt, in der die Wahrnehmung nicht nach der effizienten Schubladisierung strebt, sondern wo die Schönheit der Dinge an Orten auftaucht, an denen man sie normalerweise übersieht.

Kleine Happen, keine komplexen Bildungsexzesse, viel Spass und ganz viele angewandte Übungen bieten euch Werkzeuge für die eigene Entwicklung weit über den Kurs hinaus. Die FotografInnen werden in ihren Bildwelten bereichert, alle Anderen werden einfach mit neuen Augen durch die Welt gehen können.

Topics “seeing without eyes” or “The space in between” lead you into a world where perception does not strive for the efficient pigeonholing, but where the beauty of things shows up in places where it normally is overlooked.

Small chunks, no complex formation excesses, having fun and experience lots of exercises will provide you with development tools far beyond the course. The photographers are enriched in their imagery, all the others will simply walk the earth with new eyes.

Copper sun

Die alte Dame, die mir ein Zuhause bietet, wird nächstes Jahr hundert Jahre alt. Und in dem Alter darf man auch hier und da eine Falte haben oder vielleicht eine gewisse Schrulligkeit an den Tag legen. Sie begann aber in den letzten Jahren, den Regen allzu freizügig in sich aufzunehmen. Darum spendieren wir ihr ein neues Dach zum Jubiläum. Ich begleite die Arbeiten als Bauherr aber vor allem auch als Liebhaber wundersamer Momente… Hier ist einer davon. Ein frisch montiertes Blech in der Abendsonne.

The old lady who provides me a home, becomes a hundred years old next year. And at that age you are entitled to have a wrinkle here and there, or maybe expose a certain quirkiness. However, she began to let the rain in a bit too easily in the last years. That is why we give her a new roof for the anniversary. While I accompany the work as a owner and money giver I accompany it above all as a lover of wondrous moments … Here is one of them. A freshly mounted copper sheet in the evening sun.
