I am a thousand winds that blow

Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there,
I do not sleep;
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on the snow;
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle rain.
When you waken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave.
I am not there.
I did not die.
For everything beautiful that you see
will bring a memory of me.

Transient traces

To be and to act, leaving traces with every step we take, changing the world. This seems so relevant and lasting. How healing it is, to see every now and then, as our traces move on and the world becomes whole again soon after.
I wish you a wonderful Sunday.

Yours truly

The encounter | die Begegnung

More than five years ago, on Christmas Day 2006, we let go our first son, Noël. He went to that place where only our own death can give us access to. Since then, I’m looking for traces, metaphorical signs of my connection to my deceased son. The resulting images of this quest are shown in the series “Traces”. Now that Theo, our second child, enriches our lives, the search for those “star trails” has changed. The traces seem to become more specific. As if the two brothers grow access to each other … an intimate picture to me: Theo meets the “traces”.
