The song of life

Frei nach Alan Watts: Das Leben ist keine Reise, die zu einem Ziel führt. Viel mehr ist es wie Musik: man sollte geniessen so lange die Musik spielt. Mitsingen, mitspielen, Teil des Stückes sein. Oder das Leben als Tanz: es geht nicht darum am Schluss des Tanzes einen bestimmten Punkt im Raum erreicht zu haben, sondern den Tanz getanzt und genossen zu haben. Das Leben zu leben bedeutet nicht bestimmte Orte zu besuchen, sondern besuchte Orte zu erleben…

 Loosely quoting Alan Watts: Life is not a journey that leads to a goal. Rather, it is like music: we should enjoy as long the music plays. Sing along, play along, be part of the song. Or life as a dance: it is not about to have reached a certain point in space at the end of the dance, but to have danced and enjoyed the dance while it lasts. Living life means not to visit certain places, but to fully experience those places we visited…
